Our Daughter - Special In Every Way
Our little girl is the biggest reason my wife and I went through all of this. She just turned 6 years old, has already been on about 100 airplane rides, has spent time in more than one foreign country and is special in every way. She's smarter than both her parents, incredibly kind and empathetic and very bonded with us.
I work at home, so I can count on two hands the number of days that I had ever been away from her before we left for Kyiv for the births. That month away just about ripped my heart right out of my chest. During this entire experience in Kyiv, one of the driving forces for me was the constant reminder that every day that passed brought me a day closer to seeing my Téa Jane.
Since we got home, she's been coming around like we thought she would. She was a bit hesitant at first and still struggles with no longer being the only child from time to time, but for the most part she's embraced the role of being a big sister. She helps feed the boys, helps with their baths and even sings to them at times to help them stop crying.
She's the best and we're thrilled that she has siblings.
